2001 (also referred to as The Chronic 2001) is the second studio album by American hip hop recording artist Dr. Dre, released on November 16, 1999, by Interscope Records. It is the follow-up to his debut album The Chronic (1992). It was produced primarily by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man, as well as Lord Finesse, and features several guest contributions from fellow American rappers such as Hittman, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, and Eminem. 2001 exhibits an expansion on his debut's G-funk sound and contains gangsta rap themes such as violence, promiscuity, drug use, street gangs, and crime.
Dr. Dre's attack against a big website may have backfired ... the attorney for TheDirty.com fired off a letter to Dre saying what a big fan he is ... and then lumping the legendary rapper in with the likes of OJ Simpson.
It's actually pretty hysterical.
A post on TheDirty claimed Dre -- who is married -- has been hooking up with a big booty video vixen.
Dre's lawyer fired off a letter to TheDirty, and we've obtained the response from the website's lawyer, and it's priceless.

I never thought that I’d type Dr. Dre and Axl Rose in the same sentence anymore than you ever thought that you would read them in the same sentence. However, given that Dre’s fabled Detox record has been delayed enough times to be subtitled Chinese Democracy II, the Good Doctor and Rose seem like they might actually have been cut from the same artistic cloth. Don’t believe me? Check out the video for the track “I Need a Doctor” from the (alleged) forthcoming (alleged) album Detox.

Hip-hop legend Dr. Dre has been turning to 1970s electronica pioneers Kraftwerk for inspiration as he completes work on his long-awaited album Detox.
The rap icon is putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to 1999 release 2001, and recently revealed the first single will be a track called Under Pressure featuring Jay-Z.
However, Dre admits he`s been listening to a completely different genre of music to help fuel his creativity during the lengthy process.
He tells Reuters, "I`ve been listening to a lot of old `60s and `70s music. Things like Kraftwerk,... Read More

I got Ice Cube his start. I also launched Eazy-E. There ain`t no question that N.W.A. became what it was in large part because of my music and my producing. Me and Eazy had agreed from Jump Street that we was to be partners. Now Eazy says he`s the owner of the record company, Ruthless. Well, let him own it then. But I was never supposed to be signed to him or owned by him.
(On the mysogyny in his songs): "Black women are the strongest most hardworking people on earth. The sh*t I talk on records about black women is just that: sh*t."
