When you get to speak Irish, you become more at one with yourself, you kind of have a spark when you use it, and I think it`s a great dialect. When they first cast me, I was a pretty avid fan of vampire movies and Celtic mythology, so I was excited to get a chance to walk in Doyle`s shoes and have fun with it.
I`m into doing my own stunts. I learned [how to] years ago when I was doing a show for American TV called Covington Cross. I had a lot of fighting and rough stuff in that and I always want to do my own stunts -- it just looks a lot better. We`ve got really good stunt guys on the show and they teach us all this stuff. The other night I had to put on a back brace and pads and everything -- I want to participate and they`re letting me, so it`s pretty cool.
His character Mark Healy on "Roseanne" (1988), was intended to be a one-episode guest appearance, but became a seven-year stint.
Did dead-on impersonations of "Sesame Street" (1969)'s Grover and Christopher Walken.
