LOS ANGELES – Nas faces a criminal contempt charge for unpaid child and spousal support in his divorce from fellow singer Kelis (kehl-EES`).
The rapper pleaded not guilty through his attorney and was ordered back for a March hearing in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES — A judge ordered Nas to increase his payments to his soon-to-be ex-wife, Kelis, and their infant son to $51,101 a month Wednesday.
The ruling came after two days of testimony about the musicians, during which both were portrayed as cash-strapped. Nas had been paying Kelis nearly $40,000 a month since July.

Rapper Nas has been hit with a massive $2.5 million demand from U.S. tax officials, according to reports. The hip-hop star is accused of failing to keep up with his taxes in 2006 and 2007, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials have taken their case to court in a bid to recoup the cash. A day after Kelis gave birth to their son, rapper Nas was ordered by a Los Angeles judge Thursday to pay his soon-to-be ex-wife $40,000 in monthly support, court documents show.
For now, the "Milkshake" singer will receive $30,471 in spousal support per month, while the estranged couple`s son, Knight, will receive $9,027, according to court records.
