Alien Love Secrets is an EP made by Steve Vai in 1995. It was written as a stripped-down guitar, bass and drums record with minimal keyboards. Alien Love Secrets was released in the middle of the recording process of the 1996 album Fire Garden, as Vai wished to keep a steady output, and the 70 plus minutes of Fire Garden were taking too long to release at an acceptable interval after Sex and Religion. Notable tracks include "Bad Horsie" (derived from a riff Vai played in the movie Crossroads). "Ya-Yo Gakk" is based around vocal recordings of Vai's young son, Jullian. "Tender Surrender", one of Vai's most famous songs, bases itself around a familiar sound, structure and beats-per-minute as Jimi Hendrix's "Villanova Junction" from Live At Woodstock, although written in a different key. "The Boy from Seattle" is a tribute to Jimi Hendrix written by Vai.
Recieved a Grammy nomination in the category of "Best Instrumental Rock Performance" in December of 2005 for his song "Lotus Feet" from the album "Real Illusions: Reflections"
In the movie "Crossroads," he plays a demonic rock guitarist who has a final "cutting-heads" guitar showdown with Ralph Macchio. Both Vai and Macchio were born and raised on Long Island, New York.

Besides being a guitar player, I'm a big fan of the guitar. I love that damn instrument.
