Charlize Theron led the way in a sexy little red dress at the NYC screening of Young Adult last night. While there was no date on her arm, Charlize looked happy to be in the company of costars including Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, and Elizabeth Reaser. Young Adult screenwriter Diablo Cody was also decked out for the event while Jason Reitman was in his usual attire. Charlize's character in the movie seems a long way from her stunning and strong self, though in the age of Facebook even Charlize admitted to checking in on her high school crush. Charlize is also... After a hiatus from leading roles, Charlize Theron returns full-on with this month's Young Adult, a film that showcases her Oscar-worthy talents—and the liberating energy of her newly single life.
“We should keep it classy,” Charlize Theron says.
It’s a warm autumn evening in Los Angeles, and I’m sitting with Theron at a near-empty Japanese restaurant. Up the road, Barack Obama is wooing the beautiful and boldfaced at a $17,900-a-plate fund-raiser, and for hours, the Hollywood sky has rattled with helicopters. But this feels like a... Read More

Paramount has been sneaking screenings of “could be a black comedy, but then again could be an outright tragedy merely punctuated with moments of hilarity.
The sneaks are probably a good idea, because this is not the kind of film that you just want to throw out there. It’s certainly darker than any of Reitman’s previous work, including the ingeniously misanthropic “Thank You For Smoking,” and as noted, it’s kind of hard to categorize.
But it’s daring. The film, written by Diablo Cody (“Juno”), is the story of the... Read More

Unrequited love takes an unusual turn in this would-be comedy teaming Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. She's an unmarried woman who wants to have a child, and he's the longtime friend who secretly pines for her romantically.
He manages to switch his sperm with that of the intended donor. The latter half of the film, which advances several years and isn't quite as jokey, plays better than the first. Juliette Lewis and "Morning Glory" co-stars Patrick Wilson and Jeff Goldblum also appear. ** (PG-13: AS, N, P) Read More

Welcome to the future of your past.
A 1970s version of the future, where personalities and asteroids collide.
Was a soloist with the Mostly Pops Orchestra and Canton Symphony Orchestra.
Graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.F.A. in drama (1995).
It`s an amazingly liberating thing to be able ... to take your clothes off and not worry about it, because it`s not about your body, it`s not anything like that, ... (I)t`s nice to go out there and have people screaming regardless of whether you look like a Chippendale (male dancer) or not.
The two times I performed at the White House, for the Kennedy Center Honors, I was made fun of. The first time, in 2001, I wore a nice Gucci suit and tie, which cost more than my rent. And when I met President Bush, he said, `Thanks for dressing up.` Everybody else was in a traditional tux. It was really funny. I totally got mocked by the President. Then the next year, I had on a black suit with a tuxedo shirt and a great light-blue straight tie. It was just a little different. But Colin Powell said, `Hey, next time wear a bow tie.`
